The Problem

Understanding Maths isn't the same as scoring marks

A student can understand a teacher's explanation and still struggle when faced with an exam question alone.

They may know the formula but apply it incorrectly.

They may have the right approach but lose marks through their working.

They may repeatedly make the same mistake without realising it.

The problem isn't always more teaching.

Often, students need to practise, submit, receive feedback, understand their mistakes and practise again.

That's what Method Room is designed to do.

The Method

This Is More Than Tuition. It's A Method.

Method Room is built around a simple principle:

"You don't improve at Maths by simply watching someone else solve problems. You improve by solving problems yourself—and understanding exactly where you went wrong. "

Build The Knowledge. Then Build The Exam Performance.

BUILD: Months 1 → 5

The focus is on systematically covering the full AS/A-Level Maths syllabus.

Students learn each topic, practise it and receive feedback on their work.

The objective: build a strong foundation across the entire syllabus.

MASTER: Month 6 → EXAMS

The focus shifts from learning the syllabus to maximising exam performance.

Students work through:

  • Weekly tests
  • Cumulative tests
  • Past-paper questions
  • Timed exam practice
  • Weak-topic revision
  • Targeted intervention
  • Exam technique

The objective: turn knowledge into consistent exam marks.

What Happens At Method Room Doesn't End When The Lesson Ends

Traditional tuition often follows a simple cycle

Attend → Learn → Go Home

Method Room goes further:

 Learn → Practise → Submit → Mark → Diagnose → Improve → Test

This means every week gives us new information about what the student understands, what they don't, and where they are losing marks. The programme continuously adapts around that information.

Who Is Method Room For

Method Room is designed for AS and A-Level Maths students who want more than simply attending a weekly tuition session.

It is particularly suited to students who:

✓ Want to achieve an A or A*
✓ Are prepared to work independently between sessions
✓ Want detailed feedback on their working
✓ Benefit from structure and accountability
✓ Want to know exactly where they are losing marks
✓ Are willing to be tested regularly
✓ Want to build confidence through measurable improvement

For Parents: No more guessing how they're doing.

One of the hardest things for a parent is knowing whether tuition is actually working. At Method Room, progress is based on evidence. You'll know that your child is:

  • completing their work;
  • being tested regularly;
  • receiving feedback;
  • improving identified weaknesses;
  • and building towards the exam.

Less guesswork. More evidence.

Why Only Five Students?

Because five students is small enough for individual attention—but large enough to create a focused

 At Method Room, students aren't anonymous faces in a classroom.

We see their work. We see their mistakes. We see their progress.

And we know where they need to improve.

Maximum 5 students per batch. Every student's working matters.

The Promise

The mastery commitment:   Do the work. We back the result.

 We believe students should take responsibility for their progress -  and we should take responsibility for the programme we provide.

That's why we have a simple commitment.

If a student:

✓ Completes at least 90% of assigned homework

✓ Maintains an average test score of at least 80%

✓ Participates consistently in the programme

and still doesn't achieve at least an A grade, we'll provide additional targeted revision support at no extra cost.

Because if you put in the work, we believe you deserve every opportunity to achieve the grade.

Full terms and conditions apply.

Ready To Turn Maths Understanding Into Exam Performance

Method Room isn't about sitting in a classroom for two hours and hoping the grade improves. It's about building a system around the student: Learn. Practise. Submit. Mark. Diagnose. Improve. Test. Repeat.
